Odds to Win March Madness Tournament

North Carolina (+250) currently has the best odds to win this season's NCAA Title and with good reason with a complete team led by F Tyler Hansbrough. The Tar Heels have a great inside-out game with Hansbrough and guards Ty Lawson (15.9 ppg) and Wayne Ellington (15 ppg). The Heels are one of the deepest teams in college, as they have 6 players averaging over 10 ppg. They also have a seasoned coach in Roy Williams, so they have a legit shot at winning it all.

UCONN (+400) has a good shot, but they recently lost to Pitt and some weaknesses were exposed. However they have 7'3" monster C Hasheem Thabeet, who leads the NCAA in blocks. However, the Huskies recently lost 3rd leading scorer Jerome Dyson for the year due to a knee injury. The Huskies still have a great team and great guard play, but will they limp into the Big Dance?

Louisville (+800) is a good defensive team and has one of the best front line with 3 forwards averaging over 12 points per game. They do not have great guard scoring, but they can run with the best of them.

Pitt (+1000) recently beat #1 UCONN and showed the nation they are a real threat this season. They have a great inside-out game and forwards DeJuan Blair (15.7 ppg) and Sam Young (18.2 ppg) are hard to defend down low. Blair is a 265-pound banger and is the leading offensive rebounder in the nation.

Can you ever discount Duke (+1000) to win it all? They have one of the best backcourts in the nation, but do they have the size to go all the way? If Duke does not play a team with major size, they have a good shot.

Oklahoma (+1200) has one of the best players in the nation in Blake Griffin (22.8 ppg 14.2 rpg) and 2 guards that are averaging over 10 points per game. They currently have a 13 game winning streak and they lead the Big 12, which has 3 ranked teams.

Wake Forrest (+1200) may be a good dark horse pick, as they have, perhaps, the best guard in the nation in Jeff Teague (20.2 ppg). However, the Demon Deacons are not a one-man team, as they have 2 forwards averaging over 13 ppg and 7 foot center Chas McFarland (8.9 ppg 6.2 rpg).

UCLA (+1200) has the tools, but they recently lost 2 straight games in the Pac 10 and they are only decent on D ranking 41st in the nation. The Bruins started conference on fire, but since the middle of January they are only 5-4 in Pac 10 play.
